Guitar Hero World Tour (GHWT) es un videojuego desarrollado por Activision de la serie Guitar Hero que esta actualmente en fase previa de lanzamiento. Este nuevo Guitar Hero pretende ser una versión maximizada de versiones anteriores y contiene, al igual que su gran rival Rock Band, los periféricos del momento: la batería, el micrófono y el bajo para crear una sensación de estar realmente en una banda de rock.

1ºMODOS DE JUEGO
Este juego tambien contará con una gran variedad de modos de juego y hace total incapié en la personalización, es decir que el jugador podrá modificar y crear personajes, logos de la banda, vestuarios instrumentos (dentro del juego) e incluso canciones. Tendrá un modo online para hasta 8 jugadores en enfrentamiento de bandas y habrá una tienda parecida a la de Rock band para descargar canciones, destacando que por primeras vez se podran descargar canciones y material extra para el Wii, ya sea en la memoria interna o en una memoria SD y podremos guardar todo esto en un solo archivo rockero. Tambien tendra una nueva modalidad llamada Music Studio en la cual se pueden crear sus propias canciones y subirlas a internet para que todo el mundo las puede bajar y calificar. Tambien se incluira un nuevo modo de dificultad, "Beginner".

2ºPeriféricos

2.1ºBateria

La batería de GH: World Tour cuenta con 3 discos a altura media,lo que son: Tarola y 2 tambores, 2 platillos elevados y un pedal simulando un Bombo - Además que cuenta con un sensor de sensibilidad al golpe, es decir que dependiendo de con cuanta fuerza se golpe cada platillo o disco crea sonidos diferentes. Cabe mencionar, que se agrego una 6ª nota en esta bateria. Lo que es el pedal o Bombo.

2.2ºGuitarra

La guitarra ya no será la representativa Gibson debido al problema que hubo entre Activision y ésta compañía, ahora será un diseño original mas atractivo con acabado de quema de sol (Sunburn), que Activision ha nombrado "Generic-caster", por su parecido con las guitarras Fender Stratocaster, sin embargo se ha negado cualquier relacion con marcas comerciales de guitarras. Esta tiene cinco botones sensibles al tacto (ademas de los normales), ahora tendra 10 botones, 5 las teclas y 5 botones sensibles al tacto, tipo rockband.

2.3ºMicrofono

El periférico de micrófono es exactamente igual al visto en Rock Band, es decir parece un micrófono común y corriente, se conecta vía USB y se puede usar, además de servir para cantar, para crear sonidos de percusión (estilo pandero) cuando no haya letra en la canción, es alambrico.

Guitar Hero World tour se ha confirmado que contendrá 86 canciones, las cuales ya fueron confirmadas todas.

Además de la posibilidad de crear a un personaje propio, el videojuego incluirá a Ozzy Osbourne, Zakk Wylde, Ted Nugent, Hayley Williams, Sting, Billy Corgan, Travis Barker , Jimi Hendrix,MacuaRock , Gabomania. A todo esto se le agregan los personajes ya tradicionales de la saga Guitar Hero como lo son Axel Steel, Midori, Judy Nails, Johnny Napalm, Lars Ümlaut, Casey Lynch, y confirmaron el regreso de la guitarrista gótica Pandora.

La versión para Wii incluye una modalidad llamada "Mii Freestyle", que permite a los usuarios del Wii utilizar a uno de sus personajes Mii ya creados como personajes seleccionables en el juego.
